Not only a good menu for breakfast, cereal and milk can be a snack in the middle of the night. Amanda Frankeny, registered dietitian and program director for the Food Dignity Movement suggests combining whole-grain, low-sugar cereal with milk to help balance your blood sugar at night.
Banana and peanut butter
Bananas and peanut butter are a balanced menu for blood sugar. According to Amanda, this menu is good for improving sleep quality. Bananas contain potassium to help relax muscles and complex carbohydrates that regulate blood sugar. Combine with peanut butter, it is a healthy and filling source of fat and tryptophan.
Protein or snack bar
Protein bars are a snack solution that can be consumed in bed. The sweet, salty, and crunchy taste makes this snack delicious to eat at midnight. Walnuts, almonds, pistachios have protein, melatonin and magnesium that make you feel full. This makes it easier for you to fall asleep.
